SUPER EIGHT’s 21st Kansai Debut Anniversary at Super Comics Cafe

Spending time in the Super Comics Cafe for SUPER EIGHT’s Kansai Debut Anniversary on August 25th was a delightful experience. Upon coming in, one could already hear Eito’s songs playing on loop and see their MVs on the video screens—the perfect setting to celebrate SUPER EIGHT’s debut this year.

A tabletop arrangement at the Super Comics Cafe featuring plush toys of characters, a strawberry milk drink, and a dessert, alongside a comic book and a cap.

The cafe was centered around the comics that were inspired by 5 of SUPER EIGHT’s songs: “オオカミと彗星” (Wolf and Comet) , “キミトミタイセカイ” (The World I Want To See With You), “Re:LIVE“, “大阪ロマネスク” (Osaka Romanesque), and “LIFE〜目の前の向こうへ〜” (LIFE ~me no mae no mukoue e~).

The Tower Records Cafe at Osaka Station City was transformed into the Super Comics Cafe with the posters of the 5 comics displayed on the walls and the comic titles serving as the table decor.

A close-up of a manga book opened to a page displaying characters in a dialogue, with a hand holding the book and a plate of food in the foreground.

For those Eighters who have yet to read the comics, going to this cafe was a good chance to discover the stories, as it provided the printed copies of the comics for the guests to read. They even have translated versions in English and Simplified Chinese.

They served food inspired by the elements within the stories of comics, like a chahan set that can be seen cooked in Osaka Romanesque and a penguin parfait related to The World I Want To See With You. It is fun to discover the connections of the food they serve while reading the comics in the cafe. They also gave you a free sticker when you go in and a coaster when you ordered drinks.

I got the Sweet Potato Brûlée from Re:LIVE and the Strawberry Milk from LIFE〜目の前の向こうへ〜.

A display of acrylic stand figures and character cards from the Re:LIVE series, showcased at Super Comics Cafe. The figures are arranged on a black tablecloth, with a wire rack holding various character cards in the background.

Goods based on the characters in the stories were also sold here, such as clear files, acrylic stands, keychains, magnets, along with the DVD of SUPER EIGHT’s 二十祭 Tour, and some singles.

If the schedule permits, I would like to return to the Super Comic Cafe on Yasu’s birthday (September 11th) or on SUPER EIGHT’s National Debut Anniversary (September 22nd).1

The café had a cozy ambiance, a perfect setting to get to know other Eighters or to hang out with fellow fangirls you would want to introduce SUPER EIGHT to.
